COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A three member committee consisting of Branch County Clerk Terry Kubasiak, Prosecuting Attorney Zach Stempien and Probate Court Judge Kirk Kashian is scheduled to meet on Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. to consider a replacement for retiring Branch County Register of Deeds Nancy Hutchins.
Hutchins is set to retire on Friday, February 4.
One of two applicants will be chosen by the committee to hold office until a successor is elected.
The applicants are Nyci DeLoach who is the current Chief Deputy in the Branch County Register of Deeds office and Kristen Booth of Quincy.
The Register of Deeds position will be on this year’s August Primary and November General Election ballots for a two year term expiring on December 31, 2024.
