COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Health Officer Rebecca Burns reported during Thursday’s Board of Health meeting that the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency along with Region 3-C of the Area Agency on Aging have received shipments of KN95 masks that are being made available to the public.
Residents of Branch, Hillsdale and St. Joseph Counties can receive a package of 10 masks starting on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 by coming to their local health department office.
There is a limit of one package per person. Agency offices are open from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
A mask must be worn to enter Agency offices. KN95 masks will be given on a first come first serve basis, while supplies last.
Health Officer Rebecca Burns says, “As COVID-19 positivity rates continue to surge in our communities, getting vaccinated and boosted, as well as wearing a well-fitting mask over your mouth and nose in indoor public settings or crowds is crucial to protect yourself and others from COVID-19,”
The Health Agency says their goal is to get these KN95 masks out to those in the community to replace less-effective masks, such as cloth masks. If community organizations are willing to assist in distribution, contact the Health Promotion and Education department, at 517-279-9561 extension 104.
Free KN95/N95 masks have been made available throughout Michigan as part of the state’s Mask Up, Mask Right campaign.
