JACKSON, MI (WTVB) – A 24-1 third quarter turned what was a close game in the first half into a romp for Coldwater as they won at Jackson Lumen Christi 67-35.
The game was tied 13-13 after the first quarter, and Coldwater led at halftime 31-27, but the Cardinals outscored the Titans 36-8 the rest of the way.
Evan Sloan had a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Brandon Downs added 12 points, 4 boards, 4 assists, and 3 steals, Donte Work had 11 points and 4 rebounds, and Ethan Crabtree 10 points and 3 steals.
Coldwater improved to 9-1 overall, 7-1 in the Interstate 8 with the win and remain tied with Marshall atop the league standings. Lumen Christi dropped to 2-10 overall, 1-7 in the Interstate 8.

In the Big 8, a hot-shooting Concord Yellow Jacket squad prevailed at Union City 80-41 to stay atop the league standings. Terrance Morgan Jr. and Kyle Morgan had 9 points apiece for the Chargers, who dropped to 6-5 overall, 3-4 in the Big 8. They are tied with Bronson for fifth place in the league. The Vikings improved to 5-7 overall thanks to a 57-41 win at Springport behind 19 points from Aden Hathaway and 10 apiece from Reagan Mayer and Kamron Brackett.
Elsewhere, Quincy lost to visiting Homer 44-23; the Orioles fell to 2-7 overall, 1-6 in the Big 8 . And Reading knocked off Jonesville 45-33.
