ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – A rash of injury traffic accidents in the area this summer with suspected drunk drivers behind the wheel continued on Tuesday. The latest happened in Steuben County, Indiana around 11:45 a.m. yesterday, leaving a 69-year old Pleasant Lake man seriously injured.
Sheriff’s deputies said Maynard Crager lost control of his 2007 Jeep SUV, which struck two trees and came to rest on its side. Crager was trapped in the wreckage for around a half hour following the crash that occurred on County Road 200 West just west of Angola.
Crager was flown out to Parkview Regional Medical Center for treatment. Deputies said he suffered head and internal abdominal injuries which could have been much worse but they were reduced because he was using seatbelts.
