GIRARD, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Board of Educatin Monday night approved a bid offered by the Covenant Church to purchase the Girard School building and property for $73,000. The Girard site has been vacant since the district’s Franklin Alternative High School was closed at the end of the 2013-2014 school and replaced by the CASL Academy, the Coldwater Adult and Secondary Learning Academy located at the Lincoln Learning Center.
School officials will be working with the Covenant Church to allow Girard Township to take possession of the original Girard School Bell as well as a time capsule placed at the school property in 1960.
