LANSING MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Michigan Dept. of Treasury is reminding communities in the state of the upcoming deadline to apply for funding for the First Responder Training and Recruitment Grant Program.
All Michigan cities, villages, townships, counties or fire authorities are eligible to apply for a grant up to $200,000 related to first responder recruitment and training.
Completed applications must be received by the state Treasury Department on or before Feb. 15, 2022.
According to the press release, awards to any one applicant shall be no more than $100,000 for recruitment and no more than $100,000 for training programs.
A total of $5 million is available for the grant program.
