COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In Mickey Mantle summer league baseball Sunday night, Coldwater swept a doubleheader at Jonesville, winning the pair of five inning games 1-0 and 6-1. Sean Printke went the distance in the opener on a one-hitter with 9 strikeouts. The only run came in the fifth inning when Cameron Barnes singled and then scored from third on a suicide squeeze bunt laid down by Brent Smoker.
In the nightcap, Lucas Santure picked up the victory on the mound on a 7-hitter with no walks and 3 strikeouts. On offense, Mitchell Duda had two singles and 2 RBI’s and Eric Bach had a double and a single.
The Redbirds improved their record to 16-3 with their next action tomorrow night in Battle Creek at C.O. Brown Stadium.
