COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The report doesn’t yet break down the numbers for Branch County and Michigan, but Americans are making more money and spending more of what they make. Personal income and spending for May both increased.
Figures released today by the Commerce Department show personal income increased five-tenths of a percent last month. Personal spending ticked up almost a full percentage. It’s the biggest jump in spending in almost six years. Both increases are more than economists had forecast ahead of today’s report.
