QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Branch County’s latest arrest for domestic violence resulted in a felony charge being filed against the suspect following an incident over the weekend in Quincy. Village Police Chief Scott Olney says 34-year old Todd Dwyer was very drunk in the early morning hours of Monday when he choked his live-in girlfriend at their downtown apartment. Olney says Dwyer had a blood alcohol level of point-302 or nearly 4 times the legal limit.
The reported victim refused medical treatment. Dwyer was arraigned yesterday in District Court on one count of domestic violence and one count of assault by strangulation or suffocation, a ten year felony.
According to Olney, the couple had just recently moved to Michigan from Montana. Bond for Dwyer was set at $20,000. He’s due in court for a probable cause hearing on July 2, 2015.
