QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The location of Monday night’s Quincy School Board meeting has been changed to the Jennings Elementary School Commons Area.
The meeting will start at the usual time of 7:30 p.m. and a large crowd is expected to show up in support of Rob Evans.
It was recently announced on social media that Evans had been dismissed as the head football coach at Quincy High School.
That led to a large outpouring of support for Evans from community members and his former athletes on social media.
Evans has been involved with the Quincy football program for 25 years. He has been the head coach since 2011.
Evans has coached girls track since the late 90s and is a science teacher at Quincy Middle School.
Also on the agenda for Monday night will be board action on an agreement between the school district and the Quincy Education Association that would give bargaining unit members an opportunity to request emergency sick leave if they used up their sick time during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The agreement does not establish a practice or precedent and its terms will expire on on June 30, 2022.
