COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – It was a brief meeting last night for the Community Health Center of Branch County Board of Trustees, but the long and short of it for the 15 minute regular board session was word of a fourth straight month of positive net income. The April financials showed the hospital so far this year with a net income of nearly $400,000. A year ago in April, CHC reported losses in 2014 had already added up to $1.2 million.
Hospital Board Finance Committee chairman Lindy Cox told the meeting last night that April ended with a slightly positive monthly income of $67,000 as once again, decreasing inpatient revenue was offset by increasing outpatient revenue. It’s a major rebound for CHC, which lost a total of more than $7 million over the previous two years.
