ALLEN PARK, MI (WTVB) – The Detroit Lions have officially announced the signing of veteran free agent running back Adrian Peterson.
Peterson has a career total of 14,216 yards and 111 touchdowns. He was the 2012 NFL MVP and has been named to seven Pro Bowls. Peterson was originally drafted seventh overall by Minnesota in 2007 out of Oklahoma and has also played with New Orleans, Arizona and Washington.
Detroit also placed running back Bo Scarbrough on the injured reserve list.
The Lions have signed free agent offensive lineman Oday Aboushi and placed corner Mike Ford on Injured/Reserve. Aboushi returns to Detroit after appearing in seven games for the team last season. He was drafted by the New York Jets in 2013 out of Virginia and has also spent time with the Houston Texans, the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals.
