COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – With last week’s announcement by the Michigan High School Athletic Association that Football, Boys Soccer and Girls Volleyball seasons can begin, Coldwater High School Athletic Director Todd Farmer is reminding student-athletes, coaches and parents that certain protocols mandated by Governor Whitmer’s Executive Order #176 must be followed.
Student-Athletes and coaches will be required to wear face coverings at all times. This includes the sports that have already been allowed to begin their seasons.
All events will be limited to two spectators per participant as long as this part of Michigan stays in Phase 4.
Parents and Guardians attending sporting events will be required to have a face covering and must social distance at all times. This includes the three sports that started on time.
Farmer said in a e-mail he sent out on Monday that this is not for debate and that for student-athletes to have a fall season, E.O. 176 must be followed.
Farmer acknowledged he fully understands the frustrations with E.O. 176 and adds the M.H.S.A.A. is working hard behind the scenes for more guidance.
