COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch Area Food Pantry in Coldwater and Walmart make up quite a team in the fight against hunger. The food pantry this week received a $4,000 check from the Walmart Foundation Volunteerism Always Pays program.
Last year, Walmart associates volunteered 200 hours to help the Food Pantry in their annual “Feeding Branch County” effort at Thanksgiving and Christmas when 1,300 holiday food boxes were distributed at each of the two special events. Nationally, more than 4,100 Walmart associates in 2013 volunteered more than 13,000 hours toward hunger relief efforts.
