COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The case of a Sturgis man who has been charged with allegedly robbing a Bronson area woman at gunpoint in her home last October has been bound over to Branch County Circuit Court.
25-year-old Dylan Brand waved his Branch County District Court preliminary exam that was scheduled for Tuesday after he was charged with armed robbery, first degree home invasion and felony firearm.
Prosecutors have also filed a fourth notice habitual offender sentencing enhancer against Brand.
He is scheduled to appear for a Circuit Court arraignment on April 25.
According to Branch County court documents, Brand is accused of forcing his way into the alleged victim’s home and putting a small black pistol near the woman’s temple.
The suspect allegedly took a purse and left in an older model BMW.
The vehicle later crashed during a pursuit. Brand was accused of trying to make a run for it but he was eventually apprehended by Sturgis Police.
Bond has been continued at $100,000.
