COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council approved a final three year contract agreement between the city and the IAFF Fire Fighters Labor Council Local 2555 on Monday night.
The agreement included language clarifications and a three percent salary increase for the first year followed by a two percent increase for the second and third years.
Coldwater City Manager Keith Baker says this is in keeping with the City’s budget projections and the wage increases provided to the City’s non-union employees and other union bargaining units for the current and future fiscal years.
The employer’s contribution to the employee’s defined contribution retirement plan has been increased four percent to a total of 14 percent.
Other contract language changes included the residency requirement being extended from 20 to 25 miles.
The effective date of the contract is retroactive to July 1, 2021 and it expires on June 30, 2024.
There are 13 CFD employees currently in the union.
