CALHOUN COUNTY, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – The Calhoun County Public Health Department has scheduled two COVID-19 walk-in vaccine clinics in Battle Creek for adults interested in getting a second vaccine booster.
This follows Tuesday’s updated recommendations by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to allow immunocompromised individuals and people over the age of 50 who received an initial booster dose at least four months ago to be eligible for another mRNA COVID-19 booster vaccine to increase their protection against severe disease.
Separately and in addition, based on newly published data, adults who received a primary vaccine and booster dose of Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen COVID-19 vaccine at least four months ago may now receive a second booster dose using an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna).
The walk-in clinics will be held at the YMCA Multi-Sports Complex at 86 Cherry Street on April 8 from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and on April 12 at the Second Missionary Church at 485 North Washington from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.
Both walk-in clinics listed above are open to the public. You can also receive your first dose, or first booster at these clinics.
The Calhoun County Public Health Department continues to offer COVID vaccines at the Battle Creek and Albion Health Departments on a walk-in basis.
