COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners voted on Friday to bring forward to their April 12 meeting a request from the Juvenile Division of Probate Court to sell the 2011 Ford Crown Victoria that the court bought from the Sheriff’s Office last year.
Juvenile Court administrator Wendy Gensch says the vehicle is hard to handle and the battery is often dead even though they bought a new battery last fall.
Gensch said in her request the department does not trust the vehicle for the safe transport of juveniles and it’s not getting much use.
But she is against employees using their own vehicles to transport juveniles.
She says the department is interested in buying a decommissioned Ford Explorer from the Sheriff’s Office when it becomes available.
