COLDWATER (WTVB) – Bond was set at $100,000 yesterday for 31-year old Coldwater Lake resident Robert Casto, who is accused of assaulting a State Police trooper and Coldwater City Police officer early Monday morning in the emergency room at the Community Health Center of Branch County.
Casto was taken to the hospital early yesterday morning after State Police were sent to his home on Lake Drive to investigate a reported case of domestic violence. Casto allegedly assaulted his sister Sunday night and was being treated at CHC Monday morning for a head wound suffered Saturday night at the home but it wasn’t reported. State Police say around 2 a.m. yesterday, he attacked the two officers, who were treated for minor injuries.
Casto’s next appearance in Branch County District Court for a preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 14th.
