BETHEL TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A possible electric short was cited as the cause of an early-morning barn fire in Bethel Township. Bronson firefighters were called to the scene around 3:30 this morning at 536 Wildlife Road. An accompanying grass fire was extinguished shortly before 4, while the main structure fire was brought under control at around 4:10. The barn, owned by Greg Schroeder, and its contents were declared a total loss. No one was injured, but property damage was estimated at $50,000. Mutual aid was provided by the Lakeland and Burr Oak Fire Departments, alone with LifeCare Ambulance.
