City Council approves new contract between POAM members and the City

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A new contract agreement between the City of Coldwater and Coldwater Police Department members who are with the Police Officers Association of Michigan was approved on Monday night by the Coldwater City Council.

City Manager Keith Baker says the agreement includes language clarifications and updating with the primary provisions of the agreement being financial.

The agreement includes salary increases.

The employer’s contribution to the employee’s defined contribution retirement plan has been increased to 14 percent.

In addition, the residency requirement was extended from 20 to 25 miles.

The effective date of the contract is retroactive to July 1, 2020 and expires on June 30, 2024. There are twelve employees currently in this bargaining unit.
