COLDWATER TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Two persons had to be rescued from the chilly waters of Randall Lake on Tuesday afternoon after their boat flipped over.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Department and Life Care Ambulance were dispatched to Narrows Road near Lakecrest Drive after the incident was reported at about 3:45 p.m..
A man in his mid fifties and a woman near the age of 60 were rescued by workers from Carefree Dock and Lift who happened to be nearby putting in a dock.
Terry Butters from Carefree Dock and Lift said the workers heard the couple yelling for help.
They took their barge which is used to put in docks to where the boat flipped over.
The workers found the man was hanging to the boat while the woman was holding onto a cooler.
Neither was wearing a personal flotation device.
The two were pulled from the water and brought to shore.
They told a Sheriff’s Deputy and the Life Care Ambulance crew they were okay and were not transported to the hospital.
