COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The grass fire season in Branch County arrived over the weekend with the start of spring but the fire danger should be subsiding over the next couple of days with colder temperatures along with rain and snow showers. Shortly after 1 p.m. Sunday, the Coldwater Fire Department was dispatched to a grass fire at 507 Fleming Road. The flames were a threat to several buildings and the Tekonsha Fire Department called for mutual aid and brought a tanker truck to the scene to help control the blaze.
The Bronson Fire Department was busy for over an hour with a grass fire on Deer Park Road with that alarm toned out around 4:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
