COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The winner of last week’s MHSAA Coldwater Class B Boys District had its March Magic run come to an end last night as Edwardsburg lost 66-61 to Benton Harbor in the Comstock Regional Semifinals. Also at Comstock, Interstate 8 Conference runner-up Harper Creek was eliminated with the Beavers falling 66-51 to Otsego. In Class-C, at the Adrian Madison Regionals,
Hillsdale’s undefeated season is now history as the Hornets, who knocked Quincy out of the tournament last week, lost 58-48 to Hanover Horton. The outcome left both teams with 22-1 records with the Comet’s win sending them on to tomorrow night’s Regional final against Addison.
And at the Mendon Class D Regional, the host Hornets advanced to their first regional final in 11 years with a 69-46 victory last night over Covert. Mendon improved to 13-10, the same record as their next opponent, Wyoming Tri-Unity, which eliminated Kalamazoo Heritage in the other semi-final.
In girls basketball, the state tournament Quarterfinals are tonight and Homer is playing in its first Sweet 16 in 33 years as the Trojans go up against Ypsilanti Arbor Prep in Class C at Michigan Center. And a Hillsdale County team put its undefeated record on the line tonight with 24-0 Pittsford playing St. Joseph Michigan Lutheran in the Class D quarterfinal at Harper Creek.
