COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Corner Farmers Market received a $1,500 donation from the Downtown Development Authority on Wednesday as the market gets ready for its eighth season.
It’s been held six of the last seven years in downtown Coldwater.
Due to renovation work in the 4 Corners Park, the market this year only will be located at the south end of City Hall, in the northeast corner of Randall Plaza.
Manager Luke Bovee says after a partnership with the Coldwater Area Chamber of Commerce, the market has started its own, standalone nonprofit which has allowed them to hire a manager for the first time.
Bovee says the Corner Farmers Market attracts up to almost 1,000 persons every week.
The Corner Farmers Market will operate every Saturday from June 25 until September 10 between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m..
The economic impact last year was estimated at over $50,000 which was spent on local produce and goods.
