COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The frigid temperatures that have been the standout feature of Branch County’s seemingly endless winter are apparently just about ready for a meltdown. Most meteorologists are holding to their predictions that the sub-zero readings forecast for Friday morning will finally be the last time the mercury will dip below zero around here for this season. That’s an improvement over 2014 when the last sub-zero temperature was recorded on March 13th at two below, two days after it warmed up to 50. By the middle of next week, 50 might be the high temperature for Coldwater.
This winter has already had 15 days when the thermometer displayed below zero readings. By comparison, in 2013, there was only one day when the temperature went below zero in Branch County.
