COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – With help from the Branch County Community Foundation, community members can now designate a gift to the the K-9 Fund to help support the work that Deputy Dogs Chaos, Nyx and Xenia do for our community.
Coldwater’s Family Farm and Home recently made a food donation to the Branch County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit.
Sheriff John Pollack says any donation helps offset costs for K-9 food, training, and equipment.
Chaos is handled by Branch County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Scott Jaye and their unit is used to assist the Branch County deputies along with other departments. The two have been very successful, especially with tracking fleeing offenders.
Deputy Jaye and Chaos are constantly training between calls through Magnum K-9 and participate in training with several other departments from multiple states.
For any community members wishing to donate to the K-9 Fund, donations are accepted through the Branch County Community Foundation.
Chaos stuffed animals and t-shirts may be purchased as well at the Branch County Jail for $20, with the proceeds going to the K-9 units’ care.
To donate to help the Sheriff Service Dogs, please go to the Supporters of the Branch County Sheriff’s Office Fund at the Branch County Community Foundation and designate your donation to the K-9 Program, www.brcofoundation.org.
