COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – It was 13 degrees below zero Saturday morning as walkers stepped off for the 30th Annual Walk for Warmth in Coldwater. While the frigid temperatures kept the turnout low, just over $3,500 was collected. Community Action officials expect that number to rise because of late contributions and a match by the company for Consumers Energy workers who walked Saturday.
Amerigas also contributed $500 in propane gas vouchers to Community Action. Last year, funds raised in Branch County assisted 28 families, totaling 57 family members.
