BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – An 18-year-old from Athens lost his life on Monday night while another teen was critically injured in a crash that took place in the Urbandale area.
Battle Creek Police say Ryan Millirans, who was driving, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash which took place in the 20000 block of Collier Avenue just after 9:00 p.m..
According to police, it appeared that Millirans’ car hit a boulder, likely rolled once, and hit a small tree before stopping.
An 18-year-old passenger is in critical condition at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.
Police are not yet releasing the passenger’s name.
Millirans was a junior at Union City High School.
No other vehicles were involved. The crash is still under investigation.
