KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Consumers Credit Union in Kalamazoo recently gave away $50,000 dollars in cash prizes to help some home project dreams come true.
Through their Fresh Start Home Sweepstakes, Consumers awarded $10k, $15k and $25k to three randomly selected winners.
Consumers President and C.E.O. Kit Snyder said he wanted to make this sweepstakes meaningful because of the rising cost of home improvements. He went onto say, “Consumers loves helping members improve their financial lives and Fresh Start is such a fun way to do that.”

Tim Matyasi, winner of the $10,000 award, says he and his wife are looking forward to using their winnings on projects around the house.
“We are definitely excited,” said Matyasi. “We’re going to do some home improvements, possibly the floor and central air.”
The $15,000 prize was awarded to Keith Green, said his plans to use the additional cash to help fund a safe space for their dog to play.
“I’m planning to put in a fence around my house for my dog, and they’re not cheap,” said Green.
Patti Gibson was presented with the top prize of $25,000, and plans to use her winnings to free up her cash flow.
“I’m so excited. I never win anything,” said Gibson. “I’m going to put this money toward my emergency savings and pay down some debt – so, thank you!”
