CALHOUN COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Michigan Department of Transportation has announced work on a four-year, $210 million project along I-69 in Calhoun and Eaton Counties will start next Monday, September 21.
The project will include reconstructing 22 miles of the interstate and six interchanges, the replacement of the 15 Mile Road bridge over I-94 and the repairing of 26 bridges.
There will also be drainage and safety improvements from south of I-94 in Calhoun County to Island Highway in Charlotte.
Crews are also scheduled to repave the Turkeyville Rest Area and carpool lot as well as the Potterville Rest Area. The overall project is expected to be finished in the fall of 2023.
Motorists should expect lane closures on I-69 and I-94 during the entire project, along with intermittent ramp closures and county road closures over I-69 for bridge work.
