CALHOUN COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says they have received information of a phone scam in which a person identifies themselves as being from their Warrant and Citations department.
The scam is impersonating people’s names that are currently employed with the Sheriff’s Office.
This is done to convince a person receiving the fraudulent call that may research the legitimacy of the call if they were to look up employees of the Sheriff’s Office.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Officer says they will never contact you to solicit funds for outstanding warrants or citations.
This incident is currently under investigation by the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Detectives.
