LANSING (WTVB) – Just when you thought you were safe from political ads for a while,an organization opposing the May Vote for a sales tax increase to fund road repairs in Michigan is starting what it says is a “mutli-media campaign”. But financial reports show that Paul Mitchell with the Coalition Against Higher Taxes and Special Interest Deals has a lot less money than the proponents of “Proposal One”.The opposition ads are only running on a few cable stations in Grand Rapids, Flint, Detroit and Lansing. They report donations of just over a thousand dollars.“Safe Roads Yes”, the group backing the proposal reports it has taken in just under 3.2-million dollars in the first few months of its existence.
