UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – The Village of Union City and the Union City Chamber of Commerce will again host the annual Union City Memorial Day Parade and Cemetery Service honoring our nation’s fallen Veterans on Monday.
The parade begins at 10:30 a.m. from the Union City High School parking lot.
It will go through downtown Union City and end at Riverside Cemetery, which takes approximately an hour and a half.
The parade pauses at the North Broadway Street Bridge to allow for a ceremony to honor the Navy and Coast Guard and to lay a wreath at Veterans Memorial Park.
The parade will pause again for wreath placement at the Civil War Memorial at the First Congregational Church.
Judging for the Patriotic Bike Decorating Contest will be at 10:00 a.m.. Children between two and 12 will decorate their bikes in a Memorial Day theme.
Medals will be awarded for first, second and third place winners in age divisions two to six years old and seven to twelve years old.
A service at Riverside Cemetery will take place following the parade.
For the first time since 2019, there will be a Memorial Day Parade in Quincy on Monday morning.
The parade is being put on by the Quincy American Legion. It will start at 11:00 a.m. at the Legion will head west on U.S. 12 before turning onto West Street and heading to the cemetery.
