COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Freezing rain that began in the early morning hours and left a slippery coating on all area roads caused school across Branch, Hillsdale, St Joseph, and Calhoun counties to be closed. The National Weather Service cancelled their Freezing Rain Advisory at 6:30 am, but by then the damage was done, with the icy coating remaining.
Among the schools closed Thursday are Coldwater, Quincy, Bronson, Union City, Tekonsha, Pansophia Academy, St Mary’s Assumption in Brnson, St Charles Borromeo in Coldwater, and the Branch Intermediate School District, including the Branch Area Carees Center, Waldron Center, and all preschool programs.
Kellogg Community College delayed their opening at all campus sites, including the Grahl Center in Coldwater, until 10 am Thursday.
