LANSING (WTVB) – Branch County’s new 58th district State House Representative, Republican Eric Leutheuser of Hillsdale, has received his committee assignments for the 98th Legislature which convened for the first time on Wednesday. Leutheuser succeeds Ken Kurtz of Coldwater, who left office at the end of December after being term limited. Leutheuser will serve as the vice chair for both the House Elections Committee and the Financial Liability Reform Committee. Additionally, Leutheuser will serve on the House Committee for Commerce and Trade as well as the Communications and Technology Committee. Leutheuser also took the oath of office on Wednesday and was joined by members of his family. The 58th District includes Branch and Hillsdale counties. Residents can contact Rep.
