STURGIS, MI (WTVB) – A prayer vigil was held on Sunday night at Sturgis High School for two teenagers who were badly injured in a four vehicle chain reaction crash in the area of U.S. 12 and Burr Oak Road near Burr Oak on Friday.
In addition to thoughts and prayers, Go Fund Me pages have been set up for 16-year-old Fekile Lind and his 17-year-old girlfriend Jillian Romanyk in order to raise money in part to help with medical expenses.
The Sturgis High School students are both facing long recoveries.
Romanyk’s spinal cord was severed and she is permanently paralyzed from the waist down.
Lind suffered numerous injuries including severe head trauma and several broken bones.
Lind and Romanyk were among three persons who were air lifted from the scene of the crash.
