QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – There could be a big shake up in the near future for the Big 8 Athletic Conference.
Quincy High School Athletic Director Gabe Frisbie reported during Monday night’s Quincy School Board meeting that Jonesville has formally agreed to consider a move to the Cascades Conference and that Homer has done this as well.
Frisbie reported Jonesville and Homer school officials will be deciding on a direction forward soon with votes on the conference issue in the coming weeks.
A meeting was scheduled to take place on Tuesday with the rest of the Big 8 Conference athletic directors, principals and superintendents to discuss the ongoing conference alignment and other issues.
Meanwhile, Jonesville school officials have scheduled a question-and-answer session about the possible change with members of their community for Tuesday evening.
Jonesville and Homer were originally members of the Little “C” Conference when it was formed in 1931. They were later part of the Big 8 Conference when it formed in 1973.
