WASHINGTON D.C.(WTVB) – The U.S. House Thursday passed the Save American Workers Act, bipartisan legislation introduced by Representatives Todd Young (IN-9), Dan Lipinski (IL-3), Tim Walberg (MI-7), Pete Olson (TX-22) and Mike Kelly (PA-3) to repeal the 30-hour definition of “full-time employment” under the Affordable Care Act and replace it with the traditional 40-hour definition.
“The President’s health care law has led to one hit after another to the American people’s pocketbooks, including a loss in hours and wages for hourly workers. As Chairman of the Subcommittee on Workforce Protections, I remain deeply committed to safeguarding workers and businesses from Obamacare’s damaging economic consequences. Restoring the traditional 40-hour work week through the Save American Workers Act is an important reform that will protect employees and provide certainty for employers,” said Walberg.
