COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council passed a proclamation during Monday night’s meeting which proclaimed September 10 as Pride Day in the City of Coldwater.
The Branch County Pride Festival is scheduled to take place that day at Parkhurst Park.
Chris Boger is the Executive Director of Branch Pride and spoke to the Council before the vote on the proclamation.
Mayor Tom Kramer read the proclamation which stated “the City of Coldwater is a welcoming community and recognizes the importance of equality and freedom and is committed to supporting the visibility, dignity and equity of all people in our city.”
The proclamation also said “Coldwater has a vibrant LGBTQ+ community comprised of individuals, families, and supporters who are an integral part of the fabric of our City, and who contribute throughout the year to the City’s economy and quality of life.”
