COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Maintenance work at the former Taylor’s Stationers store at 60 West Chicago Street is scheduled to start on Tuesday and officials with the City of Coldwater say traffic in the downtown area will be impacted for two weeks.
The improvements to the building will include power-washing, tuckpointing, and painting.
The city announced on Friday this will impact the flow of traffic on North Hanchett Street and in the Milnes Plaza.
During this time there will be no northbound turns onto North Hanchett from U.S. 12. Single lane entry into Milnes Plaza from North Hanchett and access to Milnes Plaza from North Monroe Street will be unimpeded.
Upson Plaza guests can exit normally onto North Hanchett Street, but may only enter from the North. Drivers are encouraged to enter and exit from Clay.
The sidewalks surrounding the Taylor Building will be inaccessible. Pedestrians are encouraged to cross south across U.S. 12 to avoid interruptions to accessibility
