ATHENS TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department took a 19-year-old Pennfield man into custody for attempted murder on Thursday night following a shooting incident in the 4000 block of L Drive South in Athens Township. The investigation led to the Georgetown Apartments in Emmett Township where several persons were identified in the shooting. A news release from the Sheriff’s Department did not reveal further details of the shooting. Deputies say they recovered the firearm used in the crime along with an additional stolen firearm and a quantity of illegal drugs. The case is still being investigated by the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department.
