FREMONT, IN (WTVB) – A Fremont, Indiana man was arrested Wednesday after he was accused by police of walking into a basketball game last Saturday night while he was in possession of a gun.
22-year-old Joshua Needham is facing a level 6 felony charge of possession of a firearm on school property.
Fremont Police say they were working security at Fremont High School for the varsity basketball game between Fremont and Angola. During the game, a person walked into the school building with a firearm. Officers on the security detail were able to quickly escort the person out of the building without incident.
A search warrant was served on Needham at his residence where he was taken into custody without incident.
Fremont Police say it is against the law in Indiana to possess a firearm on school property, unless the firearm is secured, out of sight and in your vehicle.
