GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — To commemorate President Gerald R. Ford’s 109th birthday, members of the Ford family and the President Gerald R. Ford Historical Legacy Trust will conduct a wreath laying ceremony at 9:00 a.m., Thursday, July 14, at President Ford’s tomb on the grounds of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum.
The tradition of this annual ceremony was created by former First Lady Betty Ford shortly after President Ford’s death in 2006 and has been conducted on her behalf every year since then.
The ceremony will include presentation of wreaths on behalf of President Joseph R. Biden, the Ford family, healthcare workers from Western Michigan, and the Ford School and Ford Institute of the University of Michigan and Albion College.
Members of the Ford family and representatives of the Michigan National Guard are expected to attend.
