COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In boys high school basketball Tuesday, the Coldwater Cardinals used a 13-5 fourth quarter as they rallied to defeat Kalamazoo Loy Norrix 51-45 in their final game before the holiday break.
McDonalds Player of the Game Colin Warner led Coldwater with 17 points while Brady Beckhusen added 11 points as the Cardinals improved to 3-1. Coldwater had a big edge at the foul line as they were 19 out of 28 while Loy Norris was just five for 11.
Loy Norrix won the J.V. game 46-45. The Coldwater freshmen defeated Fremont’s “C” team 48-39. Noah Waterbury was Coldwater’s leading scorer with 15 points.
Union City 54, Bronson 47
Union City outscored Bronson 24-16 in the final quarter as they defeated the Vikings 54-47. Union City is now 2-1 while Bronson drops to 1-3. Elijah Harris scored a game-high 29 points for the Chargers while Courtney Salesman led the Vikings with 14 points.

Coldwater improved to 5-1 as they romped over Kalamazoo Loy Norrix 53-17. Every Cardinal player on the roster scored led by Carlee Crabtree who had nine and seven rebounds. Jamie Wellet had eight points, seven rebounds and four assists. Olivia Foley also had eight points and seven rebounds. Tyler Scheid had six points and 15 rebounds while Samantha Rodesiler had six points and seven assists. Coldwater outrebounded Loy Norrix 69-25.
The underclassmen games were split. Loy Norrix won the J.V. game 48-39 while Coldwater won the freshmen game 40-27. Taylor Wilber led Coldwater with 15 points while Merna Yaldo had 11 points and Kaity Meyers had 10 points.

Autumn Carpenter led the Chargers with 11 points, five assists and three steals. Dani Cross added nine points while Allison Adams grabbed 12 rebounds and Paige Kline had seven blocked shots.

The relay team of Carter Moore, Tanner Bowers, Paul Bonham and Austin Butler broke their own record in the 200 Freestyle relay. Bowers and Butler both won events for the Cardinals. Butler won the one meter dive while Bowers won the 100 Freestyle. Also the relay team of Tanner Bowers, Mason Angel, Jace Arnold and Jeremy Hassenzahl won the 400 Freestyle relay. Ben Fagen and Mason Angel both had big time drops for the Cards. Ben dropped 3.83 seconds in the 100 Freestyle and Mason dropped 3.71 seconds on the 100 Backstroke.
