COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Rod Olney, Jon Houtz and Dale Swift were thanked for their years of service Tuesday afternoon as they took in their final Branch County Board of Commissioners meeting.
Olney and Houtz lost in the August Republican Primary while Swift decided not to seek another term.
Both Swift and Olney both said being on the Commission was a learning experience. They expressed best wishes to all of the departments. Swift hoped the Sheriffs Department would have “better budgets and better staffing” in the coming years.
All three of the outgoing commissioners were presented with plaques by Board Chair Don Vrablic.
Olney will be replaced by former County Prosecutor Terri Norris, former Bronson Mayor Leonard Kolcz will take over for Swift while former Sheriff and County Commissioner Ted Gordon will replace Houtz.
The new commissioners officially take over on January 1, 2017.
