QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Fire Department has gotten their main firefighting engine back after being gone for repairs for almost a year-and-a-half. The engine has been out of service since May of 2015.
Quincy firefighters removed over 2,700 feet of hose and all the various tools from their loaned truck last Tuesday and placed it all back on their rig so it could be officially placed back in service.
The unit was placed out of service for 180 days last year for pump repairs and a new tank.
The repairs cost almost $52,000. It was returned to Quincy last January but had to be sent back to the repair facility in Detroit due to complications. The repair facility vowed to make it right and gave Quincy a used truck in the meantime.
