COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A 29-15 halftime deficit and a cold shooting night were to much to overcome as the Coldwater Cardinals were beaten for the first time this season, 59-51 on Friday night by Parma Western. Coldwater was only five of 26 from the floor in the first half and finished 17 of 62. Colin Warner led Coldwater with 12 points while Gage McGuire had nine points and our McDonald’s Player of the Game Damon Beckhusen finished with seven points. Steele Fortress scored a game-high 18 points for Parma Western. Coldwater dropped to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the conference. The Panthers improved to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the Interstate 8.

Coldwater used a 17-1 second quarter to defeat Parma Western 55-38. The Lady Cardinals are now 1-1 in the Interstate 8 and 4-1 overall. Tyler Scheid led Coldwater with 11 points and nine rebounds while Malorie Rzepka had 10 points and four steals and Emilee Smoker grabbed nine rebounds. McDonalds Player of the Game Samantha Rodesiler had seven points.
