QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Thanks to the recent awarding of a $1 million infrastructure grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, a lot of street construction will be taking place in the Village of Quincy in 2017.
The village will be holding an open house next Wednesday, December 21 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. to review construction plans.
Streets affected are Grove, Daly, East Jefferson, Fulton, Colfax, East Liberty and a portion of Orange between Wood and Fulton.
Quincy Village Manager Eric Zuzga says the village will use the funds to remove water mains and improve streets. Larger water mains will replace four inch water mains that are 122 years old. They also plan to replace a lift station on the south side.
The local match is 10 percent and the money has to be spent by December 2017.
Village officials are looking for feedback during the open house on driveways, sidewalks, width of roads and any other issue impacted by the proposed construction. Staff and engineering representatives will be on hand.
