QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Sheriff John Pollack updated the Quincy Village Council on his department’s activities during the Council’s Tuesday night meeting.
He said everything with the new Branch County Jail is going well.
Pollack anticipates the demolition of the old jail will take place sometime at the end of this summer.
There are still openings for Corrections Officers so mandatory overtime remains in place for the current staff.
But with the county moving all employees to the Tier One pay scale, for now all of the road patrol deputy positions are filled.
He said the new 800 megahertz radio system helped them in the apprehension of two suspected car thieves out of Hillsdale County as they were able to monitor radio traffic in that county before the suspects got into Branch County.
